Dr. Carolyn Clark, D.M.A.

Carolyn Clark is a native of Pasadena, Texas. She has been playing keyboards and directing choirs in churches since the age of 14. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the Manhattan School of Music.

As a French hornist, Carolyn has performed throughout the United States and Canada with symphonies, opera companies, and Broadway shows. She currently performs in and serves as executive director of the Staten Island Philharmonic.

Born and raised in New York City, I have been a New Yorker all of my life. Moved to Brooklyn where I attended Brooklyn College. My first position was as a secretary in an Art School in Manhattan. I have been a secretary to a Rabbi/congregation in Manhattan Beach Brooklyn, and a legal secretary for many years to an estate planning attorney in Manhattan. I was secretary to the president of an insurance company, and for six years I was the Office Manager/Secretary for the Regional office of Women’s American ORT, here on Staten Island. I have been the church secretary with the Unitarian Church of Staten Island since May 1998.

Religious Education Coordinator

Kate Howard assumed the position of Religious Exploration Coordinator beginning August 1, 2012. Kate served on the RE Committee for three years and recently held the position of Religious Exploration Chair.  Previously, Kate worked in Development for both social service and arts organizations. She has an MFA in Theatre from Towson University in Maryland.

Working with the children and youth in Religious Exploration is a great joy for Kate, and she feels blessed to be collaborating alongside UCSI's great staff, and inspiring committee members and teachers.
