Our Committees
| Almost all the work and major decisions of the Church come out of the discussions and interaction in our Committees. Involvement in one or more Committee is a normal sign of active membership in our community life. Our Committees are listed below in alphabetical order. |
| Arts | The Arts Committee arranges for the display of art in the
church, creates a yearly Arts Journal and Arts Festival, and promotes other
artistic events See the Arts Committee page. Co-Chairs: Larry Schwabacher & Patricia Murphy. |
| Buildings and Grounds | The Building and Grounds Committee monitors, maintains and
restores all Church property to ensure safety, cleanliness and legality.
Chair: John Adrian. |
| Bylaws | The Bylaws Committee is working on updating and revising the
Church Bylaws. Any changes will be submmitted to the Congregation for approval.
Chair: Richard Currie. |
| Canvass | The Canvass Committee plans and organizes the annual drive
for pledges to support the Church budget. Chair: Tom Seluga. |
| Caring Team | Our congregation now has a Caring Team. If you or your family are experiencing an extended illness, hospitalization,
family death, birth, adoption, move or other transition, please let us know so that we can send a card, make a visit, help with
transportation, child care, meals or other miscellaneous needs.

| Communications | The Communications Committee ensures a healthy flow of communication
between the Congregation, the Board, the Minister, and the surrounding community.
We coordinate the newsletter, the bulletin board, press and publicity, and
the web site. Chair: Ruth Benson. |
| Denominational Affairs | The Denominational Affairs Committee keeps the church informed of the activitites of the UU Area Council, the UU Metropolitan District and the international UU Association. |
| Finance | The Finance Committee, working with the Treasurere, reviews
and cooordinates the business operations of the Church to ensure fiscal
integrity, effective personnel utilization and intercommittee cooperation.

| Flower | The Flower Committee provides flower arrangements for the
Sunday services, with special flowers at Christmas, Easter and at memorials
on request. Chair: Marilyn Brook. |
| Growth & Long Term Planning | The Growth and Long Term Planning Committee addresses the long term issues and growth of the Church. |
| Hospitality | The Hospitality Committee arranges for availability of refreshments
after the Sunday service. Chair: Randy Leason. |
| Jolly Holly Fair | The Jolly Holly Fair Committee plans and holds the yearly
seasonal Fair, a major fundraising event. See the Jolly

| Library | The Library Committee maintains and enhances the quality of
the Church library. Chair: Randy Leason. |
| Membership | The Membership Committee welcomes visitors to our church and
its programs. See the Membership page. Co-Chairs: Susan Flynn & Sarah Dolinar. |
| Memorial Garden | The Memorial Garden Committee administers the Memorial Garden.

| Ministerial Relations Committee | The
MRC was appointed by the Board of Trustees to serve as a liason between
the congregation and the minister. Members are Linda Santlofer,
Claudette Duff, and Jill Hueckel, chair. Rev. Karlson serves as a
member ex-officio. It is our purpose to listen to the concerns of the congregation as they relate to the church and minister, as well as the concerns of the minister, and to provide feedback. Our main goal is to strengthen the means of communication in order to support the mission of the church. We believe this will enrich our community and help sustain our cherished home. | Nominating | The Nominating Committee nominates Executives and Board members
for election by Congregation. Members are elected at the Annual Meeting.

| Religious Exploration | The Religious Exploration Committee provides Lifespan Religious
Exploration program for all ages of members from children to adults. See

| Social Concerns | The Social Concerns Committee identifies local, regional,
national and international issues which impinge on our well-being, and initiates
programs, church services and community action to raise consciousness of
and stimulate action on these issues. See the Social

| Summer Forum | The Summer Forum Committee plans and runs the yearly Summer
Sunday Service Program from June through August. Chair: open for 2010. |
| Welcoming Congregation | The Welcoming Congregation Commitee ensures that the congregation
remains open and inclusive to all people regardless of sexual orientation.
We hold educational and social activities to promote that welcoming attitude.

| Worship Arts | The Worship Arts Committee designs and oversees the the format
of the Sunday service in a way that ensures that the service meets the needs
of the congregation. We work closely with the Minister and the Directors of
