Our Committees

Almost all the work and major decisions of the Church come out of the discussions and interaction in our Committees. Involvement in one or more Committee is a normal sign of active membership in our community life. Our Committees are listed below in alphabetical order.

Arts	Aranges display of art, Arts Journal, and other activities for the Arts Festival and other events. Larry Schwabacher & Patricia Murphy
Buildings and Grounds	Monitors, maintains and restores all Church property to ensure safety, cleanliness and legality. John Adrian
Bylaws	Plans and submits updated and revised bylaws to Congregation for approval. Richard Currie
Canvass	Plans and organizes the annual drive for pledges to support the Church budget.
Communications	Ensures a healthy flow of communication between the Congregation, Board, Minister, and surrounding community. Responsible for Newsletter, Bulletin Board, Press and Publicity, and Web Page. Ruth Benson
Denominational Affairs	Represents and keeps the church informed of the activitites of the UU Area Council, the UU Metropolitan District and the international UU association.
Jolly Holly Fair	Plans and holds the yearly seasonal Fair, a major fundraising event.
Finance	Reviews and cooordinates the business operations of the Church to ensure fiscal integrity, effective personnel utilization and intercommittee cooperation. Susanne O'Callahan
Flower	Provides flower arrangements for the Sunday services, with special flowers at Christmas, Easter and at memorials on request.
Growth & Long Term Planning	Addresses the long term issues and growth of the Church.
Hospitality	Arranges for availability of refreshments after the Sunday service. Lillian Orrock
Library	Maintains and enhances the quality of the Church library. Randy Leason
Membership	Welcomes visitors to our church and its programs. Marilyn Brook & Rona Solomon
Memorial Garden	Administers the Memorial Garden. See Memorial Garden page. Mary Lou Greene & Joan Pipkins
Committee on the Ministry	Serves as a confidential link between the membership and the Minister. Maureen Curran
Nominating	Nominates Executives and Board members for election by Congregation. Members are elected. Ann Kalil & Judy Davison
Pastoral Care and Sunshine	Keeps in touch with members and friends who might benefit from a greeting card, phone call or helping hand. Ann Kalil & Precious Hayes
Religious Education	Provides Lifespan Religious Education program for all ages of members from children to adults. See Religious Education pages. Susan Flynn
Social Concerns	Identifies local, regional, national and international issues which impinge on our well-being, and initiates programs, church services and community action to raise consciousness of and stimulate action on these issues. See Social Concerns pages. Marjorie Ramos
Summer Forum	Plans and runs the yearly Summer Sunday Service Program.
Welcoming Congregation	Ensures that the congregation remains open and inclusive to all people regardless of sexual orientation. Holds educational and social activities to promote that welcoming attitude. Paola Suarez-Papp
Worship Arts	Designs and oversees the the format of the Sunday service in a way that ensures that the service meets the needs of the congregation. Works closely with the Minister and the Directors of Music. Carol Lodato, Jill Hueckel, Chris Johnson, Kathy Santo
