Mary L. Bullock
A painter of plants interacting with light, Mary moved to Florida in 1991 where she was a Cable TV art talk show host and
contributing writer to a monthly magazine. In 1995 she first started painting tropical plants.
Bullock says- "I paint light interacting with plants. These are fragile images that exist for fleeting moments, like the shadow
of a leaf upon a leaf, yet with all of light's power to make us feel as well as see."
In April 2001 Mary returned to St. George, to paint full time. She has exhibited widely nationally and internationally, as well as in
many Staten Island venues. She was a 2003 COAHSI JuneFest grantee, a 2008 double COAHSI grantee. Ninety percent of her
paintings done since 2000 are in private collections.
Born in Detroit, MI, she was raised in the NYC area and earned a BFA from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY, 1968, with graduate study
at SUNY New Paltz 1970-71. From 1972-91 Mary worked in advertising and publishing while living in Chelsea, St. George, the Upper
West Side of Manhattan and Litchfield, CT.

A photographer for about seven years with an oil/acrylic painting background and degrees in Art & Art History, she has exhibited in numerous
galleries and at Art Fairs in and around New York City. Presently a Special Projects and Graphics Manager, also a member of the Creative
